Vistara takes flight

Vistara – the airline of the joint venture between Singapore Airlines and Tata Sons Ltd will take to the skies from January 9, 2015. Vistara will be a full service airline based in Delhi, and will initially operate flights between Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Goa. The airline will have an initial fleet of five Airbus A320 aircraft.

This marks the return of the Tatas to Indian aviation. Tatas owned Air India till it was nationalised back in the 1950s.

A joint venture with Singapore Airlines means that the airline is expected to deliver high levels of customer service. It is expected to fill in the void created by the demise of Kingfisher Airlines.

Here’s wishing all the best and blue skies to Vistara!
